I'm Tangled

Last night was a great evening with old friends we haven't seen in quiet some time. We were invited over for dinner and the hostess Robyn, showed me some of her paintings. There were so many GORGUSS ones but being the mother of two little girls these pictures stole my heart. So can you believe she gave these to me? I never imagined leaving with treats but I hit the lottery!

Here's a picture of the set:

No really what do they eat?

Well they're pretty angry at the pigs so I'd guess PORK!
Our menu consisted of Devilled Eggs, Ham and Egg buns, Pigs Ears with Slop (Chips and salsa) and if you look in the back of the picture you can see the slow cooker TROUGH, we had BBQ Pork Ribs, Pork & Beans, Piglets (Honey Garlic Pork chucks)
In the back of this next picture you can see the base of the trio stacker that held Squealers (Jalapeno Poppers), Pigs in a Blanket, and Pig Tails (Curly Fries)
It was DELICIOUS!

30 years old, and I have a DOLLHOUSE!

This Dollhouse is a 1979 that my Brother purchased as a gift for my Mother in the early 1980's (when I was born). My Mother worked away at it for a few years and then it eventually found it's way into the attic. Well 6 house and 30yrs later I pulled it from the barn and decided it's getting a reno. I'm happy to say this house has not be uninhabited for the duration of time, there was plenty of "evidence" of squatters. So after days of cleaning and carpet and wall paper removal I took these pictures. YES I said, AFTER cleaning I took these pictures (hard to believe hey?)

Yes I know this is not a hobby most people my age enjoy but crafts are in my blood, what more can I say.

***to date the house has had an exterior paint job, roof repair, siding completion, and partial interior paint job. I will be getting back to it soon and post pictures;o)

St Patrick's Parties

I've just thrown two Ladies Leprechaun Luncheon Playdate for my daughters pre-school friends. One last week and one this week.

Here's a picture of the girls drinking their Shamrock juice and eating good old hot dogs;o) Alyxandria is in the centre with the crazy hair (thanx for that, Ken)
And the group from this week:
Here is Dessert Island looking all delicious and fattening at the same time (yes, Alyx ran in circle's last night till she drop to the floor asleep -Who's a good mommy;o)

It is Rainbow Twizzlers w/ Gold Coins at the base, Green M&M's, Green Mini Marshmallows, Gold Hurshey's Kisses, Rainbow Swirl pops on the cake tray. Then on the 3 tier tray there's Rainbow Chips Ahoy, Rainbow Rice Crispy's, Rainbow Cosmic Brownies, Quaker Rainbow Granola Bars. Next tray is Sugar Cookies with Rainbow Royal Icing. Last Tray is Leprechaun Pie
Next is a close up of the candies back side: Green Frogs, Green Jelly Bellies, Green Rock Candy Sticks.
Next is a close up of the End of the Rainbow;o) And my new Cake Tray from Home Sense
Next is our dinning table covered in Rainbow Bandannas from Oriental Trading Company and foam shamrock cut-outs from the Dollar Store. Okay so those two huge Empty plates in the centre of the table later held a rainbow of fruit with a fruit dip in the centre and a Veggie Rainbow with dip in the centre. I stick at taking pictures!
Next is Home Made Irish Soda Bread and Irish Wheaten Bread (email for recipe) made by an Irish mans wife (my Mother)
Oh and my Leprechaun Trap (Yeppers I`m catching one of those suckers)
I have a scroll to go with it that says:
THE MYTH OF THE LEPRECHAUN’S GOLD:

If you can be so lucky to catch a leprechaun, he will take you to his home at the end of the rainbow. The end of the Rainbow is where his pot of gold is kept. He will give you his pot of gold as a reward for his release.

HOW TO BAIT AND CATCH A LEPRECHAUN:

You will need:
A lidded box, leprechaun grass, a sneaky stick, and a pot of gold.
Also remember Leprechauns are VERY GREEDY, They are so curious they will come to check out
Rainbow’s, Lucky Charms, or anything GREEN or GOLD.

To make your box:
Place you box upside down
with the lid flat on the floor.
Fill your lid with your “BAIT” tricks and Leprechaun grass.
Place your pot of gold at the back of your box.
Raise your box with your stick.

You must leave your box out the evening before St. Patrick's when the Leprechauns are out stealing the gold.

Best of Luck to you
